During a Frasier episode circa late 90's/early 00's, Niles informs Frasier and Roz that he and his girlfriend Daphne will have pictures of their vacation up on their website. This was in the context of portraying the couple as so into themselves that it made others around them nauseated. With the social networking scene being what it is currently, the scene's joke does not really make sense as noone thinks you're self-absorbed if you put pictures of a vacation on Facebook. Neither do people mind pictures of one's children or various life update statuses. However, I do think that if the Frasier episode could be redone today, they'd make a joke about putting up too many pictures/videos or too many comments or twittering every day's occurrences.
So I have tried not to put too many pictures/videos of my babydoll Charlotte on Facebook so people won't get sick of me or my family (not sure if I have succeeded though:)). However, because this is the first grandbaby on both sides of the family and those families are 10 or more hours away from said baby, I know for a fact they would like more pictures/videos of Charlotte. So.....long story short, my main purpose in this blog is to have a place to upload things for the grandmas to ooh and ahh over and not clutter up the Facebook wall. If you don't want to see or read about Charlotte, you don't have to (although as a biased mom, how could you not want to, hahahaha)! I'm sure I'll do other things with this blog too, of course, as I really enjoy reading my friends Bekah's and Kelly's blog and hearing about their lives. And so begins my blog - theellisonhome.blogspot.com!
